The Living Room, St Vincent Street, Glasgow – January 2013

We two bloggers (@glasgowfoodie and @ananyah) fancied a natter and some food, we didn’t think twice about The Living Room, mainly due to the amazing Pork and Chorizo Burger that we had tasted blindfolded!

We started with a couple of cocktails from their seasonal menu

Mixed berry and honey Amaretto sour for me (which was a bit of a wait but I did get a sorry)

2013 01 23 18.47.07 224x300 The Living Room, St Vincent Street, Glasgow January 2013Creamy, almondy with a fruity zing.  Loved it.

and  Winter Berry French Martini  then onto

teriyaki chicken skewers with satay sauce £5.75

Creamy satay sauce, not overpowering or sticky.  Sesame seeds added to the teriyaki sauce gave this favourite another flavour.

thai fish cakes with cucumber and sweet chilli sauce  £6.00

Spicy little blighters, loved them.  Just the right sized for popping into your  mouth after dipping into the tangy, sweet sauce.  Lots of spice in these bites.

Pork and Chorizo burger with smoked paprika alioli on a brioche bun with chips £10.25

Unfortunately my photograph for this was very dull due to the lighting.  The burger was moist, full of chorizo taste and the fluffy brioche with the smoked paprika alioli worked with the layers of flavour.

The Living Room Burder topped with Emmental and crisp pancetta, served with homemade relish and chips £10.25

2013 01 23 19.32.05 300x224 The Living Room, St Vincent Street, Glasgow January 2013 Good chargrilled taste, cheese was melted to perfection, my only gripe was the one slice of pancetta.  The accompanying sauce added some flavour to this huge chunk of burger.

A sharing board of desserts for £12 kept us very happy

2013 01 23 20.16.17 224x300 The Living Room, St Vincent Street, Glasgow January 2013Creme Brulee with passion fruit and coconut and Eton Mess were parts of this platter.  Special mention to the Chocolate Brownie/Cake slice – melt in the mouth.  I think if you ate more than this slice you would have to lie down for a week!

Excellent stuff again, two happy food bloggers.
