The Art of Craft

The many craft and art stalls offer a cornucopia of wondrous items including haberdashery, ribbons, fabrics, sewing kits and craft essentials; almost everything required to get seriously creative this Christmas.

Food

There are temptations and treats galore on the food stands and in the Food Theatre where the sights and smells will delight and inspire.

Country Living’s exclusive collection of food exhibitors supplying authentic regional delicacies such as gourmet sausages and hams, local cheeses and pate, Christmas cakes, puddings and chocolates will create a delicious festive deli.

In this year’s AGA Rangemaster Food Theatre, pick up culinary tips to create the perfect festive feast with demonstrations from top Scottish chefs Mark Greenaway of Restaurant Mark Greenaway, Neil Forbes of Cafe St Honoré and Craig Sandle of The Pompadour by Galvin.

Multi-award-winning chocolatier Fiona Sciolti of Sciolti Chocolates will enlighten audiences as to the mysterious ways of the artisan chocolate-maker.  Fiona creates extraordinary chocolates using real fruits, flowers, teas and herbs many of which are sourced from growers and suppliers local to her.

Lifestyle Theatre

New for 2013 is the DFS Lifestyle Theatre which offers expert advice on how to make the most of your home, garden and more over the Christmas period.

Author and home-maker Cherry Menlove will share a wealth of ideas for individual table settings for festive dining – from country chic to candles and glass – she’ll inspire every home, taste and budget.  Scotland’s festive front doors will never be the same again after Cherry demonstrates her magical techniques for creating the iconic Christmas wreath using unusual materials and methods and brand-new Christmas colour palettes.

Meanwhile, home-craft expert and writer Karon Grieve will demonstrate how to make all-natural simmer pots and pot pourri to keep your home smelling fabulous throughout Christmas and beyond without breaking the bank.  The BBC Radio Scotland regular will also show how to create home-made goodies for that perfect Christmas hamper.

No Christmas gift-giver should miss the gift-wrapping demonstrations from expert Jane Means.  Packed with tips on how to tackle awkward shapes and make your gifts look stunning on a tight budget, her classes are a festive essential.

Workshop Theatre

Over in the Workshop Theatre visitors can get hands-on with classes to inspire and teach everyone from the enthusiastic amateur to the more experienced crafter.  This is the perfect place to pick up a new skill or hobby.
